The Borough of Mount Arlington received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request on August 4, 2022. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your request is August 16, 2022. This response to your request is being provided to you on the seventh (7) business day after the custodian's receipt of said request.

Your request sought the following information:

1. “… a list of all properties with tax liens on them.”
In this regard, please see the attached document responsive to your request.

2. “… a list of all municipal held liens.”
In this regard, please see the attached document responsive to your request.

3. “… a list of all tax lien investors.”
In this regard, please see the attached document responsive to your request.

4. “… would like to know if the city assigns there municipal held liens.”
OPRA requests cannot be in the form of questions. They must be for specific, identifiable government records. Please contact the Mount Arlington Tax and Utility Office at 973-398-6832 ext. 113 with any questions.

5. “…a list of all vacant and abandoned properties...”
No records exist responsive to this request. As no records exist, your request for these records is denied. See, Bailey v. Department of Agriculture, GRC Complaint No.: 2003-116, Tyrone Jamison v. City of New Brunswick, GRC Complaint No.: 2013-252.

If your request for access to a government record has been denied or unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a right to challenge the decision by the Borough of Mount Arlington to deny access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the Superior court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government Records Council (GRC) by completing a Denial of Access Complaint Form. You may contact the GRC by toll-free telephone at 866-850-0511, by mail at P.O. Box 819 Trenton, New Jersey 08625, by e-mail at [email address] or at their web site at www.state.nj.us/grc. The Council can also answer other questions about the law. All questions regarding complaints filed in the Superior Court should be directed to the Court Clerk in your county.
