Dear Meredith Bendian,
A Certificate of Approval and a Certificate of Compliance are issued for construction permits, developments, renovations, alterations, or demolitions.
A Certificate of Occupancy and a Certificate of Continued Occupancy are to indicate approval for occupancy or tenancy of a property, confirming that it complies with applicable codes and regulations. I am more interested in these two.
All of these certificates are usually issued by the Building or Construction Department.
Yours sincerely,
Salem
