Dear Truth Seeker,
The Board is in receipt of your Open Public Records Act ("OPRA") request.
Specifically, your request sought:
“1) List of members and meeting dates/times of "Diversity Council"
established in response to February 2021 anti-Sikh HIB case on Zoom.
2) Results of "Diversity Audit" performed in response to February 2021
anti-Sikh HIB case on Zoom.
3) List of "cultural awareness and diversity trainings" for staff and
students in 2021 and 2022
4) Emails to and from Adam Layman, Dori Alvich, and Chari Chanley with
subject heading or keyword "diversity" sent from May 2021-October 31,
2022.
4) Emails to and from Adam Layman, Dori Alvich, and Chari Chanley with
subject heading or keyword "Sikh" sent from February 2021-October 31,
2022.”
Your request requires additional time to respond due to the need to review
potentially responsive records for confidential information and due to the
significant demands placed on the District with regard to the
exceptionally large number of OPRA requests the Board has received. OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5(i). Specifically, OPRA states that “the requestor shall be advised
by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the record is
not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
Accordingly, your request requires an extension of time until December 12,
2022.
Regards,
Lisa Goldstein
