Complaint against police employee
Please accept this as my request for government records under both OPRA and the common law right of access. Thank you very much for your commitment to transparent government.
RECORDS REQUESTED:
Page 6 of the Brigantine Police Department's 2022 Internal Affairs (IA) Summary shows that a "theft" complaint was initiated by the Police Department against one of its employees and that the IA case is "pending from prior years." I would like
a) the CDR-1, CDR-2 or other form of complaint issued against the employee
b) the police report of the incident out of which this theft complaint arose.
c) the computer aided dispatch (CAD) report related to the incident out of which this theft complaint arose.
Mr. Paff:
Please see below regarding your request for information.
Thank you,
Ann Adams

I made a follow up request to Brigantine. See, "Section 3b information on criminal offense" filed on 03/31/23.

Since Brigantine did not advise me whether responsive records existed, a filed a Denial of Access Complaint with the Government Records Council. After receiving the my complaint, the City reconsidered and sent me a response that identified a single record that existed and provided a basis for its decision to deny access. The complaint and City's reconsideration are on-line at the links below.
