Community Projects completed by Global Real estate Development company

The request was successful.

Dear Carneys Point Township,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

Information related to any community project done by Global Real Estate Development (GRED) is a real estate firm that specializes in the renovation of vacant or neglected properties to revitalize communities.

Most recent project done 2025 ABOUT CARNEYS POINT – The township of Carneys Point is situated on the Delaware River across from Wilmington. Delaware. The township has been the home of multiple DuPont businesses for over 100 years. It also is the birthplace of actor Bruce Willis whose family operated a hardware store in the area.

ABOUT OUR CARNEYS POINT PROJECTS – GRED purchased a 30,000 sf community center that was built in 1938 by Dupont as a place for their workers to gather. The building was operated as a YMCA until purchased by GRED. After an almost $1.5 million renovation, the building is due to open as the Southern NJ Community Center in early 2025.

Good Afternoon,

I am in receipt of your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request seeking “information related to any community project done by Global Real Estate Development (GRED).”

At this time, your request cannot be fulfilled as submitted because it does not identify specific government records. Under OPRA, requests must seek identifiable records rather than general information or broad categories of documents.

Additionally, the request is overly broad, as it seeks “any” records related to unspecified “community projects” without limiting the request by record type, subject matter, or a defined timeframe.

Please revise and resubmit your request with greater specificity. For example, you may wish to:

Identify a specific project or property
Specify the type of records sought (e.g., permits, contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes)
Provide a clear date range

Once a revised request is received, I will be happy to process it in accordance with OPRA.

If you have any questions or need assistance narrowing your request, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your follow-up request.

At this time, this is the only responsive document that can be reasonably identified based on the general scope of your request.

Upon receipt of a clarified request, we will be able to conduct a further search and provide any additional responsive records, if they exist and are subject to disclosure.
