The Township of Egg Harbor received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request on September 8, 2023. As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your request is September 19, 2023.

Your OPRA request sought access to the following:

Any and all Closed session meeting notes from the Egg Harbor Township Committee Meetings starting 05/01/2022 and continuing through 09/06/2023.

Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 minutes of Executive Sessions are kept confidential until the matters discussed are concluded and no longer confidential. Therefore, we are requesting clarification by identifying the specific subject matters being sought so that we may process your request. Otherwise, we will need to seek an extension to your request as it will become voluminous; copy and redact confidential subjects from approximately 30 meetings with multiple subject matters. If you would like a printout of subject matters and their status of release, please respond accordingly.

Please respond in writing and identify the specific government records sought so that we may process your request. Failure to provide written clarification of your request will result in the closure of this OPRA request.

If your request for access to a government record has been denied or unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a right to challenge the decision by the Township of Egg Harbor to deny access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form. You may contact the GRC by toll-free telephone at 866-850-0511, by mail at P.O. Box 819, Trenton, NJ, 08625, by e-mail at [email address], or at their web site at www.state.nj.us/grc.
