research tool for requiring government officials to identify and siphon
useful information, and it does not require record custodians to conduct
research among their records and correlate data from various government
records, or to exercise judgment and discretion to determine which records
(if any) might be responsive. See Bent v. Twp. of Stafford Police Dept.,
381 N.J. Super. 30, 37 (App. Div. 2005); MAG Entm't, LLC v. Div. Of
Alcoholic Beverage Control, 375 N.J. Super. 534, 546 (App. Div. 2005).

 

Item 1 seeks "[t]he current status of the $10,000.00 from illegal sale of
items that were donated". This is not a request for a specific,
identifiable record but rather a request for analysis or explanation,
which OPRA does not mandate. Determining the "status" of funds would
require research and judgment, not simply providing existing records.

 

Item 2 seeks "[a]n itemized breakdown of how these funds have been spent".
This fails to specify the precise documents you seek. OPRA does not
require custodians to deduce or compile records that could theoretically
respond to a broad inquiry for unspecified documents.

 

Item 3 seeks "[a]ll relevant receipts and documentation related to these
transactions". This is overly broad and does not sufficiently identify
specific documents. Without clarity on the records being requested,
fulfilling this request would require extensive research and judgment.

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA
and the common law right of access.  I am not required to fill out an
official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request
per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including
all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place
of a completed form as a valid government record request.

 

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New
Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

 

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

 

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

 

Records requested: 

I'am reaching out to inquire about the $10,000.00 generated from the sales
of items which were donated by Donors.  We are keen to understand where
these funds are currently allocated and any details surrounding their
use.  From September 2023 - July 1 2024

 

1. The Current status of the $10,000.00 from illegal sale of items that
were donated. 

2. An Itemized breakdown of how these funds have been spent.

3. All relevant receipts and documentation related to these transactions.
