BRRSD for Transparency

Dear Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

I am requesting electronic copies of the official district Google Calendar records for Robert Beers.

Please provide these calendar records to include the following specific details for all scheduled events, meetings, and appointments associated with his official district account:

Event Title/Subject

Date

Start and End Times

List of Attendees/Invitees

Location (including virtual meeting links if applicable)

Event Description/Notes

Attachments: Any and all documents, files, or materials embedded within or attached to the calendar events (e.g., meeting agendas, presentations, PDFs).

Timeframe: January 1, 2024 to May 5, 2026

Format: Please provide these records electronically via email. Acceptable formats include an exported calendar file (.ICS format), a standard spreadsheet (.CSV or .XLSX), or a text-searchable PDF agenda view that clearly displays all requested fields for every event. Please ensure all attachments are provided alongside the calendar data and are clearly cross-referenced to their respective events. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5, electronic records must be provided free of charge.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

Yours faithfully,

BRRSD for Transparency

Lomski, Kevin, Bridgewater-Raritan Board of Education

To whom it may concern,

I am writing regarding your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request
received on May 6, 2026 at 10:47pm, in which you requested electronic
copies of the official district Google Calendar for the Superintendent,
including all meeting details and attachments, for the period of January
1, 2024 to May 5, 2026.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(i), the District requires an extension of
time to fulfill this request. While the Superintendent’s calendar is a
public record, calendar entries and their corresponding electronic
attachments routinely contain information that is strictly exempt from
public access under OPRA and other state and federal laws.

This extension is necessary to allow the District time to compile the
electronic data and conduct a meticulous, entry-by-entry and
attachment-by-attachment legal review. The records custodian must evaluate
each item to appropriately redact protected information, which may
include, but is not limited to:

• Student records and personally identifiable educational information
protected by FERPA (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-9).

• Confidential personnel matters and employee privacy interests
(N.J.S.A. 47:1A-10).

• Attorney-client privileged communications and pending litigation
details (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1).

• Building security and safety protocols (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1).

We require an additional 14 days and anticipate providing a full response,
along with the reviewed and redacted records, on or before June 8, 2026.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation,

Kevin Lomski
