Request Of Property Records
Dear East Orange City,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
1. A list of all lands for which a zoning adjustment has been proposed between August 24, 2023 and August 24, 2024. Please include filing date, and description of the proposed use. Please provide this list in an excel document separate from the forthcoming items.
2. A list of all new construction (ground up) permits issued since January 2023.
2. A list of all Vacant land (property class 1), which have had the same owners/ title holders for more than 10 years. Please include address, owner name, and size of land. Please provide this list in an excel document separate from the forthcoming items.
3. A list of all residential (property class 2) and commercial (property
classes 4A & 4C) properties that have code violations, water shut offs, have undergone fire damage and are deemed vacant or abandoned. This list should be since July 1st, 2024. Please provide filing date, type of violation (where applicable), and owner name. Please provide this list in an excel document separate from the forthcoming items.
4. A list of all surplus real estate in the possession of the city of East Orange. Please provide this list in an excel document separate from the aforementioned items.

per N.J.S.A 47:1A-1 et. seq. When submitting requests, you must detail
the type/title, subject matter, parties, resolution number, etc. of the
requested documents; and the relevant the date(s) or date range of said
documents.
Please clarify each document you are seeking.

I am going to send items one and two to the department for a response.
For item three, please refer to the VAP list that was originally sent.
For item three, I will send the water shut off list request to the Water Department for processing. The other lists are not maintained by the City of East Orange.
