Request for Open Code Violations – 07/30/2025 to 08/14/2025 – Property Maintenance, Structural, Grass, Weeds, Lead Hazards (Excel Format)
Dear Monroe Township (Middlesex),
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested: Code Violation List Request for 07/30/2025 to 08/14/2025. I kindly request a list of all UNRESOLVED or OPEN code violations (please do not include closed violations) for all properties in the city during this time period, specifically related to property maintenance, structural issues, tall grass, lead hazard, and weeds. Please include descriptions of the violations, property addresses, and violation dates. I also prefer for the document to be sent here in OPRA not in my email (sometimes it does not appear in my inbox) and I am specifically requesting that the data be provided in Excel spreadsheet format (.xlsx). Thank you so much.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

I appreciate your response, but I must emphasize that under OPRA, public records of this nature are accessible and should be provided in the format requested. The Township’s online form is clearly designed for single-property inquiries, yet my request covers a specific date range and requires a complete, bulk list.
As a public agency, Monroe Township is obligated to provide the records in full, not restrict access to individual lookups. I am requesting that the records be delivered as maintained by your office, consistent with OPRA requirements.
Please confirm when I can expect to receive the full dataset.

We use an online platform for OPRA requests. I'm simply asking you to file your request in that way. The online form is not only for single property inquiries. You would type your detailed request into the orange box. If your request is related to a specific property, you would fill out the box underneath the initial request box. If you are not able to, I will manually enter your request into our online platform for you. Please advise.
