Dear New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control,

Under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I am requesting an opportunity to obtain copies of public records of current liquor store owners in the state of New Jersey. I would like to have the name, phone number and email address.

If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me if the cost will exceed $100. I am conducting a graduate research study on the impact of COVID and liquor sales within several states and want to reach out to both some small and medium size liquor stores. This information is not being sought for commercial purposes.

The New Jersey Open Public Records Act requires a response time of seven business days. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than this amount of time, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.

If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.

Thank you for considering my request.

Sincerely,
Cheri Mangum

Dear Records ABC,
Thanks so much for your consideration. Are you saying (at the end of the letter) that I should submit it in writing instead of email?

Yours sincerely,
