Hello,
The City of Hackensack Clerk's Office is in receipt of your recent OPRA
request (reference #770) received via email by our office on June 24, 2022
seeking certain documentation from the City of Hackensack. The seventh
business day from receipt of this request is today July 6, 2022.
The City requires additional time to respond to your OPRA request. OPRA
allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A.
47:1A-5.i. Specifically, OPRA states that, "the requestor shall be
advised by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the
record is not made available by that time, access shall be deemed
denied."
At this time, the City is requesting a seven (7) business day extension.
We anticipate that the City will have an update regarding your request by
Friday, July 15, 2022. The City also reserves the right to request an
additional extension of time, if necessary. See Scheeler v. New Jersey
Department of Educ., GRC Complaint No. 2014-123 (Feb. 2016).
