Please advise the requestor of the following, pertaining to the attached
request:

The following request is being reviewed, however, prior to the addressing
and potential fulfillment of said request, I will need the solicitor of
the information to provide a rationalization as to why they are seeking
background information on specific addresses. Private/residential
addresses and the relevant call history relating to same will naturally
invoke an analysis as to if the request for that information outweighs the
privacy interests of those involved, which is governed by NJSA 47:1A-1.

In addition to our continued dedication to safeguard the residents of our
community, we also must safeguard the intellectual privacy and
confidentiality of our residents’ records to ensure that sensitive
information is not unnecessarily released.

I forgot to respond to this earlier. A majority of the towns in NJ send any police dispatch logs requested. If Howell Township prefers not to do so, then so be it. Will the second portion of the request, for specific incident reports, be fulfilled? If specific redactions need to be made to safeguard privacy, that is understandable. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Happy holidays!

Attached please find the response to the “incident reports”.  These are
the only reports eligible for release per the Police Department as per
NJSA 47:1A-1.  The release of the other requested records are exempt from
release due to some of the calls being related to premises security
features and/or criminal/investigatory records.  I hope this will satisfy
your request.
