Police Records Request
Dear Allendale Borough,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Good Afternoon,
The Borough of Allendale received your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request on October 6, 2025 for “Police Body worn camera footage of all motor vehicle accidents between 8-1 and 8-7-25.” As such, the seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your request is October 16, 2025.
The following records are being provided and are responsive to your request:
1. Body worn camera footage of all motor vehicle accidents between 8-1 and 8-7-25- Due to the file size this will need to be pick up at Borough Hall or sent via Certified mail USPS for a fee of $12.44 ($2.00 cost of DVD and $10.44 certified mailed). Cash or check made out to the Borough of Allendale, 500 W.Crescent Ave Allendale NJ, 07401. Once payment is received I will mail out the requested documents. If DVD is picked up at Borough Hall the cost would be $2.00 made at time of pick up.
Please note that information was redacted to prevent public viewing of material that should not be disclosed. Specifically, as per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1.1, driver’s license numbers and personal identifying information is not to be disclosed due to privacy concerns.
Documents that cannot be emailed should be picked up or sent via certified mail USPS- Pursuant to OPRA (C.47:1A-5c & C47:1A-5d),. The service fees will be based upon the actual direct cost of providing the service or extraordinary time. If the requester objects to the fee, the request is closed and access to the records is not granted
If your request for access to a government record has been denied or unfilled within the seven (7) business days required by law, you have a right to challenge the decision by the Borough of Allendale to deny access. At your option, you may either institute a proceeding in the Superior Court of New Jersey or file a complaint with the Government Records Council (GRC) by completing the Denial of Access Complaint Form. The GRC can also answer other questions about the law. All questions regarding complaints filed in Superior Court should be directed to the Court Clerk in your County.
