Police Facebook page
Dear Bernardsville Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
All comments made to the bernardsville borough police Facebook page by the public in comment sections under the government postings made on the page. May 10th to the present date.
The mayor and officials told the public they took the page down due to harrassment. Harrassment is a crime in the state of NJ. So the public has a right to know what crime took place. If it was actually harrassment or simply protected free speech. It is clearly in the peoples interest to know if the government took down a useful communication device simply because of the viewpoints of people communicating with the borough. If the actual crime of harrassment actually took place.
Yours faithfully,
R Lord
To R Lord,
We are continuing to work on this OPRA request but will need an extension
in getting you the records. I will reach out to you on or before June
10th.

Dear Anthony Suriano,
I dont understand, if you give me the administration password and user name I could access these records from any place on the planet with internet access. Except china. China has a government that censors speech because the cowardly totalitarian governments doesn't like free speech.
I really do not understand the delay on such a simple request. The delay for covid was understandable at this point it really unusual.
Yours sincerely,
R Lord

Try it now, I just clicked the grant permission email I got from Google.
The larger files require an extra step from both me and the requestor to

Dear Anthony Suriano,
so these are all the comments even the ones hidden or deleted by the police department? I asked for all of them.
Yours sincerely,
R Lord
Dear Anthony Suriano,
You gave me the oldest comments under the goverment posts made by the public not all the comments. Please I am not trying to be difficult but goverment closing down a major communication device during a pandemic especially facebook the modern equivalent of a town square simply because they did not like viewpoints of the public they serve is very disturbing. SO the people need to see all the comments not just the ones marked oldest. The goverment has asserted that free speech is the crime of harassment. That is serious issue. So please send me all the comments.
Yours sincerely,
R Lord
