Police Department Request
Dear Custodian of Records,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and the common law right of access. I understand that, per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(f), I am not required to complete an official form or use a specific platform to submit this request; an email containing the necessary information suffices.
I affirm the following:
1. I have not been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
2. I will not use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
3. I am not seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
1. Copies of equipment issuance logs or records detailing the firearms currently assigned to on-duty officers.
2. Official documents or policies specifying the standard-issue firearms provided to on-duty officers.
I understand that certain records may be exempt from disclosure under OPRA, particularly those that could compromise security measures or surveillance techniques. If any portion of my request falls under such exemptions, please provide the specific legal basis for the exemption as required by N.J.S.A. 47:1A-6. It is also requested if possible for you to release any non-exempt portions of the records.
I prefer to receive the requested records electronically. Please respond directly through the OPRAmachine platform. If that is not feasible, you may send them to [email address]. Should there be any fees associated with processing this request, kindly inform me of the cost before fulfilling the request.
Thank you for your assistance.
