I am planning to buy this property but looks like basement permit was not issued. How long it will take to get permit and how much will to cost for approx 900sqft basement area?
Also want to know what are the penalties for not getting basement permit.Seller as of now doesn't want to get the permit.

Attached please find the listing of permits for 29 W Amherst St. Be advised all the permits had final inspections and have been closed out with the exception of the permit for the water heater which needs to be paid for and inspected. The amount of the permit is $22. We accept checks made payable to the Township and cash in the EXACT amount, we do not make change and we do NOT accept credit cards. Once the permit is paid for we can set up inspections.
You will need to submit a permit application with drawings of the basement in order to get the permit. The application and instructions on the drawings are on the Township Website (www.eastbrunswick.org) and under the Department of Construction. It is $75 to drop it off. The cost of the building work for the permit is $30 per thousand on the cost of the job, the electric, fire and plumbing permit price is based on what exactly is being done,.
