Dear Requester,

Hunterdon County is in receipt of your Open Public
Records Act (OPRA) request dated  2/12/2024. As such, the
seven (7) business day deadline to respond to your
request is  2/22/2024. This response to your request is
being provided to you on  2/20/2024.

Your OPRA request sought access to the following:

“Dear Hunterdon County,

We hope all is well we are reaching out to see please
provide a list of all persons who are owed surplus funds
from the sheriif sales dating from 2019-2024

Please note that your request is not in its entirety a
valid OPRA request because it asks questions or seeks
information and fails to identify with reasonable clarity
all the specific government records sought. A party
cannot satisfy this requirement by simply requesting all
of an agency's documents. See Bent v. Stafford Police
Department, 381 N.J. Super. 30, 37 (App. Div. 2005). A
custodian is not required to conduct research or create
new records in response to an OPRA request.

The County has responded by providing records which may
be responsive to your request. You can access those

Your Open Public Records request has been processed in
accordance with N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1, et seq. If your request
has been denied in whole or in part, the County of
Hunterdon reserves the right to raise any other grounds
for denial not raised in this response. The failure of
the County of Hunterdon to assert an exception or
privilege herein does not act as a waiver of any ground
for denial not raised herein.
