OPRA Request – Police Sergeant Positions
To the Custodian of Records, City of Elizabeth:
Dear Custodian of Records,
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I hereby request access to the following government records:
1. The total number of current active Police Sergeants employed by the Elizabeth Police Department as of August 1, 2025, including their full names and current titles. (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-10).
2. The total number of Police Sergeant positions authorized or funded in the Elizabeth Police Department’s budget for the current fiscal year.
This request is made in accordance with N.J.S.A. 47:1A-6(f):
* This request is being submitted electronically and contains all information required under OPRA.
* I am NOT required to complete the agency’s official form, nor to submit this request via any specific software.
* I have NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
* I am NOT requesting these records for commercial use.
* I am NOT requesting these records for use in a legal proceeding.
Please provide the requested records as an attachment, as permitted under N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(b).
Please provide the requested records within seven (7) business days, as required by N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(i).
