OPRA Request - Laundromats in Old Tappan
Dear Old Tappan Borough,
Under the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), I am requesting access to records held by the Old Tappan Licensing and Inspections Department regarding all laundromats operating within the Borough of Old Tappan.
Specifically, I would like to request a list of all licensed laundromats in Old Tappan, including their addresses and contact information, as well as any records of inspections conducted on these premises over the last five years.
I would prefer to receive this information electronically if possible, and if there are any fees associated with fulfilling this request, please let me know.

1. Records of Laundromats: Could you kindly confirm whether there are absolutely no records or information available regarding laundromats within Old Tappan? My objective is to gather comprehensive information about the presence and operation of laundromats in the area.
2. Licensing Requirement: While I understand that a specific license may not be required to establish a laundromat, are there any other types of permits or registrations that laundromat owners/operators are expected to obtain or comply with? This could include zoning permits, business registrations, or health and safety regulations.

Mr. Sexton there are no laundromats in the Borough of Old Tappan nor is there any information on any having been in the town in previous years.
The Board of Health has informed me that they do not do inspections for laundromats.
The Construction/Zoning Official has informed me that this is considered a personal service establishment, a zoning and a rental certificate application would be required along with building permits for the alteration work.
