OPRA Request — Building Permit Records, June 11-July 10, 2026
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., I respectfully request access to existing building permit records or permit activity reports for permits issued during the requested reporting period (June 11, 2026 - July 10, 2026).
I am requesting existing records only. If your department maintains a standard building permit activity report, permit log, spreadsheet, database export, or similar existing record containing the requested information, that existing record is preferred.
For permits issued during the requested reporting period, please provide, to the extent maintained, the following information:
Priority (Tier A) Fields:
- Permit Number
- Property Address
- Block & Lot
- Permit Description / Scope of Work
- Property Owner Name
- Applicant Name
- Contractor Name
- Contractor License / HIC Number
- Estimated Construction Value
- Permit Status
- Permit Type
- Permit Subcodes (Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Mechanical where applicable)
Additional (Tier B) Fields:
- Architect of Record
- Engineer of Record
- Contractor Mailing Address
- Use Group / Occupancy Classification
- Application Date
- Certificate of Occupancy Date
Additional (Tier C) Fields (if maintained):
- Square Footage
- Permit Fee Breakdown
- Related Permits at the Same Property
- Issue Date (if not already included)
If any requested field is not maintained by your department, no new record needs to be created.
If the requested information exists across multiple existing reports, I am requesting the existing report or database export that most completely contains the requested fields rather than the creation of a new report.
I am not requesting any personal contact information such as private phone numbers or personal email addresses, and understand that such information may be exempt from disclosure.
Please provide the records electronically in their native format whenever possible (Excel, CSV, or other spreadsheet/database export preferred; PDF if necessary).
If fees apply, please notify me before processing the request.
If any portion of this request is denied, please identify the specific statutory exemption under OPRA that applies.

In response to your Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request for a
construction activity report for the time period June 11, 2026 - July 10,
2026, attached please find the construction activity report for the month
of June 2026. Please be advised that construction activity reports are
issued after the first of the following month, therefore there are no
records responsive for the dates July 1-July 10 portion of your request.
To receive the July report, please submit a new OPRA request after August
1, 2026.

The report is helpful; however, it does not contain many of the fields requested in my original OPRA request.
If maintained by the Borough, I respectfully request the existing permit activity report, permit database export, or other existing record containing, to the extent maintained:

Architect of Record
Engineer of Record

If Fort Lee's permit software maintains separate permit detail reports and payment reports, I am specifically requesting the permit detail/activity report or database export associated with the permits issued during the requested reporting period.

Hi Michael,
The Borough does not maintain reports containing the information you have
indicated below. The monthly construction activity reports are the only
reports maintained and produced by the Building Department.
Additional information can be found on the Fort Lee website, Planning and
Zoning Applications before the Board.
