Opra Request

We're waiting for corey Beckwith to read a recent response and update the status.

RE: Open Records Request

I am requesting a List of all residential properties in your city that have had the water shut off any time between 6/1/2019 and 12/1/2019. I only need the property addresses. I do not want any customer information or reason for shut off. I authorize you to redact confidential information in accordance with Section 182.052 of the Utilities Code.

Thank you,

Corey Beckwith

Karen Hughes, Westwood Borough

Mr. Beckwith -

Please be advised that your request is denied as no record exists responsive to your request. In this regard, Suez Water, as the Borough’s water provider, is supposed to notify the Borough when a residence’s water is shut off. Such notifications are provided to the Borough by fax. When received by the Health Department they are filed in the corresponding Block and Lot file for the property. In order to compile the information it would require the Borough to conduct research by reviewing each and every property file on record to determine if any property has had its water shut off for the relevant time period. The Borough does not create a list or otherwise catalogue these notices.

In order to accommodate the request, the Borough will make all the Health Department Block and Lot files available for your review so you can research whether there have been any water shutoffs in the Borough in the past six months. However, the Borough’s Health Director does not remember receiving anything in quite a while. Please let me know if you would like to review the files and we can find a time that works for you to come to Borough Hall.
