Opra Request 01/15/2021
Dear South River Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
For the entire town with a date range of January 2020 to current.
All Code Violations
All Tax Delinquents/Liens
All Vacant/Abandoned Properties
All Utility Delinquent/Liens (if applicable)
Yours faithfully,
Randy Kuhn
Good afternoon,
The may be able to run reports to provide the requested Tax and Utility information.
The Borough does not maintain a list of vacant properties. There is a list that was created three years ago but has not been updated. Do you want that list?
The Borough does not maintain a list of code violations nor does it capture that information in a computer database to generate a report. Therefore, no list exist and the Borough is not required under OPRA to create one. If there is specific property you wish to get information on a specific violation, please provide the property address and the violation you wish to get a copy of. The Borough also is not required to find and copy "all" of the violations is has issued. That action would require the Borough to look through all of its property files to determine if a violation exists, that would be research not a search and also constitute a substantial disruption to borough operations which is not required under OPRA.
The Borough will provide the Tax and Utility information if a report is able to be made, or advise that it cannot. If there is a specific property you wish to get lien information on, the lien search fee is $10 per block and lot. Please provide the fee and the property block and lot and the search will be performed.
