OPRA Record Request
Dear Rahway City,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
I would like to request the following information if it's available at this department. I'm requesting the following information in excel format including the property address (address, city, state, zip), and if possible, the owners name and within the period of 10/01/2022-12/31/22.
1) A list of all residential single family, and multi family properties - tax delinquencies & tax liens.
2) All properties with the following code violations (tall grass, unsafe structures, paint issues) please do not include incorrect parked car violations.
3) A list of all residential single family and multi family vacant properties.
4) All properties that are currently in the probate process.
5) list of all water shut offs due to Non-payment, plumbing issues and fire damage.
6) Fire damages properties with no more than 50% damage.
If your department does not have access to one or more of these records, please remove them in order to complete the request and direct me to the correct department. Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.

This OPRA request has been received on Monday, January 9, 2023. It will
be reviewed and processed. A response will be sent within seven (7)
business days after the City's custodian of records receives the request.
Please note that a proper OPRA request must identify with reasonable
clarity the records desired. OPRA submissions which request all of an
agency's documents, seek information (and not records), or ask questions
are not proper requests. See Bent v. Stafford Police Department, 381 N.J.
Super. 30, 37 (App. Div. 2005). In addition, record custodians are not
required to conduct research or create new records in response to an OPRA
request. You will be notified if your OPRA request requires clarification
or is non-conforming.Please contact this office should you require further
guidance.

Per the WATER DEPARTMENT/VEOLIA: “After a search of our
departmental/office files, no responsive records were identified.
We do not shut off for non-payment of water bills in Rahway. “
