Dear North Bergen Township,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

Ordinance identifying the table of organization and how many positions there are for each rank to include but no limited to Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, Police Captain, Police Lieutenant, Police Sergeant, etc.

Dear Ms. Raposo:
The Township of North Bergen (the “Township”) received your request dated 07/29/2026 under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
Please be advised as of September 3, 2024, all requests submitted pursuant to OPRA must contain: (1) a certification whether the requestor has been convicted of a crime in New Jersey, any other state, or of the United States; (2) a certification regarding whether the record is being sought in connection with a legal proceeding; and (c) a certification regarding whether the record(s) sought will be used by the requestor or another person for a commercial purpose. N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5. “Commercial purpose” is defined as “the direct or indirect use of any part of a government record for . . . any use by which the user expects a profit either through commission, salary, or fee.” A requestor who intentionally fails to certify that a request is for a commercial purpose may be fined a civil penalty of $1,000 for the first offense, $2,500 for the second offense, and $5,000 for each subsequent offense.
Please note that future OPRA requests lacking these requisite certifications may result in the denial of your request.
