Minutes, Resolutions and Meeting Notices of the Municipal Ethics Board
Please accept this as my request for government records under both OPRA and the common law right of access. Thank you very much for your commitment to transparent government.
RECORDS REQUESTED:
1. The agenda of the October 12, 2022 meeting of the Borough of Shrewsbury Local Ethics Board.
2. The minutes, both public and nonpublic (i.e. closed or executive), of the October 12, 2022 meeting of the Borough of Shrewsbury Local Ethics Board.
3. The agendas of any meetings of the Borough of Shrewsbury Local Ethics Board that were held in 2022 except for the meetings of October 12, 2022 and December 5, 2022.
4. The minutes, both public and nonpublic (i.e. closed or executive), of any meetings of the Borough of Shrewsbury Local Ethics Board that were held in 2022 except for the meetings of October 12, 2022 and December 5, 2022.
5. Borough of Shrewsbury Local Ethics Board Resolutions 2022-01, 2022-02, 2022-03 and 2022-04.
6. A copy of my June 6, 2022 letter to the Local Ethics Board invoking my right under N.J.S.A. 10:4-19 for "written advance notice of all its meetings." My letter was mailed to the Local Ethics Board, in care of the Borough Clerk, on June 6, 2022 along with an OPRA request and ethics complaint. The object of this request is to verify that the Local Ethics Board or Borough Clerk received my June 6, 2022 letter.
7. The Local Ethics Board's written advance notice" that informed me of its October 12, 2022 meeting and/or its December 5, 2022 meeting.
8. According to Borough Code § 21-2, "the members of the Ethics Board shall be appointed by the governing body of the municipality." For each presently serving Local Ethics Board member, please provide the resolution or other writing that effectuated his or her appointment to the Local Ethics Board.

Your request requires additional time beyond the seven (7) business days to fulfill . OPRA allows custodians to seek extensions of time pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5.i. Specifically, OPRA states that, “the requestor shall be advised by the custodian when the record can be made available. If the record is not made available by that time, access shall be deemed denied.”
Your request requires an extension of time until January 31st, 2023.

Received. I note that you did not respond to items 7 and 8 of my request. Since the ethics board is up and running, which was my original goal, I am no longer interested in pursuing those elements of my request.
