Middlesex County School Funding
Dear New Jersey Department of Education,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
Please provide a copy of the following documents for each Middlesex County school district:
1. State aid awarded to each district for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school year.
2. Total budget spent in each district for the 2024-2025 school year.
3. Student enrollment for each district for the 2024-2025 school year.
4. If available, amount of state aid and the total budget broken down "per student" for each district for the 2024-2025 school year.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

Due to the size of the file, which exceeds the Department of Education’s
email system limitations, records responsive to part one of the above
referenced request are being provided through the MoveIT cloud file
sharing system.
Regarding part two of your request, budget data is located in the
[1]User-Friendly Budget page under the district’s name.
Regarding part three of your request, student enrollment data for each
district is also available on the [2]User-Friendly Budget page under the
district’s name. Enrollment data is located on the first page of each
district’s budget. Additional enrollment data can be found in the [3]Fall
Enrollment Reports on the Department’s website.
Regarding part four of your request, the Department of Education does not
make or maintain records responsive to your request for 24-25.
Accordingly, that part of your request is denied. Please note, per pupil
data for other years is available on the [4]Taxpayer’s Guide to Education
Spending on the Department’s website.
Shortly, you should be receiving an email from MoveIT Cloud with
instructions on how to access your records.
If you cannot download the records for any reason, please let me know by
replying to this message.
