Inquiry Regarding Restricted Use of Finch Park Field #2
Dear Ramsey Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Any documents related to Finch Park, Specifically Field #2 receiving Green Acres Funding from the State of NJ.
Any documents related to relationship between Ramsey Baseball and Softball Association and the Borough of Ramsey.
Any documents related to the restricted use of Finch Park Field #2 to use by only Ramsey Baseball and Softball?
Any documents showing that the use of locks on the field gates at Finch Field #2 is allowed under Green Acres Guidelines at any time.

Subject: OPRA - Open Space Grants - Finch Park Field 2
Good morning,
The only Bergen County Open Space grant which is part of Green Acres
funding that involves Finch Park Field #2, is the 2016 Application and
Grant Award. Attached are the Borough’s application to the County and
Contract #1700193 with the County. This grant though does NOT involve any
field work on Finch Park #2 it only involves bleacher replacement on a
number of fields that includes new bleachers at Finch #2.
Ramsey Baseball and Softball Association (“RBSA”) is an independent 501c3
non-profit youth sports organization. There is no direct “relationship”
with the Borough other than the organization utilizes the Borough’s fields
as do other similar youth sports organizations in the Borough serving
Ramsey’s children.
Finch Park Field #2 has a grass infield as opposed to most other fields in
the park and due to its high utilization will be shut down and closed at
times to all, for maintenance and preservation/rejuvenation of the grass
infield.
