Chester Township did not have the information requested.

Dear Chester Township,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested:

Regarding the attempted burglary incident that occurred on November 6, 2025, at approximately 10:30 AM in the vicinity of Pleasant Hill Road and Prides Crossing:
1. Mandatory Public Information (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-3(b)): I request the specific information required to be disclosed to the public regarding this investigation, including:
• The exact time, location, and nature of the event.
• The names, ages, and addresses of any suspects arrested or charged.
• The specific charges filed.
• The names and badge numbers of the responding and arresting officers.
2. Audio/Video Records: I request copies of any Body-Worn Camera (BWC) footage and Dash/In-Car camera footage from all officers who responded to the scene.
• Note on Video: If full release is not possible due to the active nature of the investigation, I request that the footage be redacted to obscure the identities of witnesses
or uncharged suspects, rather than denied in its entirety. If the video is denied, please provide a specific "Vaughn Index" or privilege log explaining specifically why the
release of the footage would be inimical to the public interest.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

Yours faithfully,
Paul Smith
