The request was refused by New Jersey Department of State.

Dear New Jersey Department of State,

This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I certify under penalty of NJSA 2C:28-3 that I have not been convicted of an indictable offense. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:

I'm requesting the following records of any and all employees for the year of 2017. Each employee record should contain: an individual’s name, title, position, salary(and longevity pay, overtime pay if applicable), payroll record, length of service, date of separation and the reason for such separation, and the amount and type of any pension received.....pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-10.

Yours faithfully,

Dear ASK NJ Media Co.:

The Department of State is in receipt of your government records request for employee payroll and pension records (see below).

Please be advised that we consider the request to be overbroad and improper, and/or or a request for research and compilation of information (not allowed under OPRA), as compared to a request for a specific record or records (allowed under OPRA).

Further, certain personnel records are excepted under OPRA.

Further, the Department of State does not maintain records of pensions of former employees.

We must, therefore, and hereby do deny your request on these grounds.

Please note that the Governor's "Transparency Center" website provides some of the information you seek:

http://nj.gov/transparency/payroll/

This will officially close out your request.
