Email log from the email server for Det. David D’Arco for December 10 2017 through March 3 2018.
Dear Paterson City,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access.
Records requested:
Complete unedited accounting, via printed email log or electronic email log from the Paterson PD email server, for all outgoing and incoming emails sent to and sent from Detective David D’Arco’s (ddarco, patersonpd) email account, for the time period December 10, 2017 through March 3, 2018.
An email log can be very easily retrieved and should be pulled by a member of the IT department, whoever is in charge of the Paterson PD email server. The email log is a very simple, short document (It is usually in a spreadsheet type format) and should contain the following information:
1. date message was sent and/or received,
2. name of sender and/or recipient,
3. email address of sender and/or receipient,
4. the subject of each email.
Det David D’Arco will not have access to his own email logs, it would have to be queried from the Paterson PD email server, usually through the IT department.
The body of each email is NOT required for this request.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Chris Crepeau
Dear Paterson City,
Would you please let me know how long of a delay to expect for this request?
Sincerely,
Chris Crepeau

Dear Jacqueline Murray,
I appreciate your response and I’m hoping that there isn’t any confusion as to what info that I am requesting. I am requesting a simple email log. It’s a very easy report to query off of the email server. It would literally take 1 minute to pull and print, or to download as a spreadsheet.
The IT department or whoever handles the email server would be able to pull this info in less than 1 minute.
The request was sent on April 2nd, today is April 12th. An additional 14 days from now to pull this simple report is not reasonable, in my opinion.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Crepeau
Dear Jacqueline Murray,
Could you please update me on the status of this late request?
Yours sincerely,
Chris Crepeau
Dear Harlynne Lack,
The Paterson police server is patersonpd.com, not patersonnj.com.
I’ve also attached a link to circular letter 03-10-ST which requires longer rentention of such records: http://www.state.nj.us/grc/pdf/DARM_Circ...
Regards,
Chris Crepeau
