E-Mail logs
Dear Pinelands Regional School District,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
Copies of email logs for Dr. Melissa McCooley, Ellen Ward, Susan Ernst, Erin Lichenwalner from November 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. Pursuant to Paff vs. Galloway Township, email logs should include: "sender" "recipient" , "date" “subject” and "time." Note: I am not seeking the bodies of the emails, just those fields of data.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Kindly accept this letter in response to your request for
records pursuant to the Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”), N.J.S.A. 47:1A–1
to–13, which is dated April 15, 2019. Specifically, you seek:
“Copies of email logs for Dr. Melissa McCooley, Ellen Ward, Susan Ernst,
Erin Lichenwalner from November 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019…”
The District has begun to process your request for the time period you
indicate; however, the District will need an extension of time to produce
the records, as your request is voluminous. The District will provide you
with a response by May 22, 2019 which is reasonable given the volume of
the requested records. See N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(g) and N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(i).
Please be advised that pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5(c), the Board may
assess a special service charge for the time and resources it costs Board
personnel to comply with your request. I will advise you of this cost
once known prior to proceeding with your request.
Thank you for your courtesies. In your OPRA request you indicated that
your preferred method to receive communications from the Board is through
e-mail. Therefore, this letter is being sent to you via e-mail. If I can
be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Nicholas Brown,
Since the email logs are metadata and not the actual bodies of emails, any "special service fees" may be considered inappropriate and illegal.
The request is simple, for an electronic copy of the e-mail logs. The time extension for the request seems excessive as well .
