Documents Related To Township Committee Recall Election
Dear Wall Township,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
- Documents and petitions from any previous recall elections for the Wall Township Committee
- Wall and State regulations that must be followed in the event a resident initiates a recall vote.
- Steps required for residents to initiate a recall vote for an elected official.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.
Yours faithfully,
Anonymous War Machine
The Township is in receipt of your OPRA request. Response is due on or 12/5/2025. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact this office.

For ease of reference the Township has broken the below request into three parts:
1. Documents and petitions from any previous recall elections for the Wall Township Committee
2. Wall and State regulations that must be followed in the event a resident initiates a recall vote.
3. Steps required for residents to initiate a recall vote for an elected official.
The Township's response is as follows:
Item No. 1: No documents exist.
Item No. 2 & 3 : Please be advised that Item No. 2 and Item No. 3 of your request seeks information or asks questions and does not identify specific government records. As such, this portion of your request is an invalid OPRA request and is denied. A proper request under OPRA must identify with reasonable clarity those documents that are desired. Custodians are not required to conduct research or create new records in response to an OPRA request.
