Dear Jessica Larney,

You say no lawsuits against officer Lawrence Petrola, however I found two lawsuits settled by Brick involving him?
Why are you not providing the correct information?

Yours sincerely,

Based on the information provided by our insurance company, Officer Lawrence Petrola has not been named as a defendant in any lawsuits as an officer for the Township of Brick.
If you have additional information that you believe is relevant and that would assist us in finding what you are looking for (dates, plaintiff, location, etc), please provide that documentation to us and we would be happy to look into this further.

Sincerely,

As per our conversation:

The OPRA request filed last December 2018 that was responded to in January 2019 was for "all lawsuits" regarding the Township of Brick. Your request was for specifically Larry Petrola.
Initially our insurance company stated that there were none for Office Petrola because he was not named the main defendant in the lawsuit. We have since discovered that the insurance company files the suits by claim number, claimants/plaintiffs last name, and date of incident. The Township of Brick is identified but not the individual employees. Therefore, they had no way to search for co-defendants (like Officer Petrola).
Since our conversation with the insurance company they have been manually going through their files to complete this request.
Attached is the lawsuit and settlement agreement for Estrada. We are still awaiting Cofi and any others they may find and I will be in touch when they do.

If you happen to know the plaintiff/claimants name or date of the incident for any others you may believe exist, that would be extremely helpful.

Sincerely,
