As indicated in the November 9, 2011 board memo, this award to Transit
Village Associates was a modification of a prior award. Project number is
P34633.
"In January 2010, the Members approved the issuance of $21.9 million of
Urban Transit Hub Tax Credits for Somerset Street Urban Renewal LLC for
the Gateway portion of a Transit Village project located in New Brunswick,
New Jersey."
I would like the tax credit applications filed by either entity Somerset
Street Urban Renewal LLC or Transit Village Associates LLC. Thanks for
your help.

Sorry for the delay. I have attached the Board Memos reflecting the Urban
Transit Hub Tax credit approval and subsequent modification for Transit
Village, which includes the details of the project and the incentive
award. If you still need to see the application after reviewing the Board
Memo, please file an OPRA request. Please note that Transit Village was
approved under the residential component of the Urban Transit Hub Tax
Credit Program, which does not have requirements tied to job creation
and/or retention.
Have a good weekend,
Jake

Hello Jake,
The EDA gave urban transit hub tax credits to a project in New Brunswick
known as the Transit Village, consisting of 3 non-adjacent buildings
including the "Wellness Plaza." One of the key offerings of this project
was supposed to be a 50,000 square foot supermarket, but the market has
closed now for a second time.
Can you please provide a copy of the application for these tax credits,
and a comment on the closure of the "Superfresh" supermarket in the
project and where the Transit Village stands in terms of its job creation
numbers?
Thanks

On December 3, I spoke to Mr. Saldutti. He informed me responsive records
had finally been located but that they would send them to DEVCO for
potential redaction before they send them to me. I opposed this policy,
but nevertheless provided an email address for DEVCO to expedite the
process.
