Departmental Policy Governing Body-Worn Cameras (BWC) - Borough of Pompton Lakes Police Department
Dear Pompton Lakes Borough,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
Kindly provide a copy of the departmental policy governing body-worn cameras (BWC) for the Borough of Pompton Lakes Police Department. Please be sure to include the departmental policy governing BWC and redactions.
My preferred method of delivery is a PDF attachment which can be sent to the email address provided. Please confirm you have received this request. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.
Thank you very much in advance for your prompt response.

M. K. Mulraney,
In response to the recent OPRA request for Departmental Policy Governing Body-Worn Cameras (BWC) , portions of the Policy require extensive review and redactions due to sensitive content. Specifically, the document includes references to tactical operations, undercover officer procedures, and live streaming capabilities, which fall under OPRA’s security-related exemptions.
The estimate to fulfill it will be based on the hourly rate of my administrative assistant, which is $31.38. We anticipate the request will take approximately 5 hours to complete, resulting in a total estimated cost of $156.90.
A 50% deposit will need to be made before work begins.
Please let me know if you would like to proceed with your request.
