Contracts
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message. Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.), I am requesting access to the following public records:
1. All active contracts or agreements between the Carteret Police Department and towing companies, including any related documents such as addendums, amendments, or service agreements.
If possible, please provide these records in electronic format (PDF or any other standard format)
Should any portion of this request be denied, please provide the specific legal basis for the denial, along with any segregable portions of the records that may be released.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response, as required by law.
Yours faithfully,
Noble Nuage
Dear Borough of Carteret ,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request your immediate attention regarding the refusal to provide requested public information as a willful and negligent adverse action taken by the Borough of Carteret. Despite my previous attempts to obtain this information, there has been an unnecessary delay that I believe violates my rights under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA).
As you are aware, OPRA (NJSA 47:1A-1 et seq.) establishes the public's right to access government records, and I have submitted a request that falls squarely within its provisions. The information I seek is essential for understanding the context and implications of the actions taken by the municipality. The refusal to provide this information not only hinders transparency but may also constitute a breach of the public trust.
Additionally, if there are specific reasons for the continued withholding of this information, I would appreciate a detailed explanation as required under OPRA. Furthermore, I would like to remind you that the New Jersey Tort Claims Act (NJTCA) outlines the responsibilities of public officials in handling such requests, and failure to comply may lead to legal consequences for the municipality.
I kindly request that you expedite the processing of my information request and provide the necessary documents without further delay. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 7 business days, I may have no choice but to pursue further action to ensure compliance with New Jersey law.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Yours faithfully,
Noble Nuage

Police reports or any Law Enforcement related inquiries, please forward
your request to Captain Jeff VanWoeart at [email address] as he
