Dear Ms. Cedar,
I am following up regarding your request for an extension until May 19, 2026, to respond to my OPRA request for the body-worn camera footage and related records from the May 1, 2026 interaction involving North Haledon Police Officer Brandon Chimel, Municipal Prosecutor Robert LaSalle, Nicole Gorter, and myself.
As of today, July 7, 2026, I have not received a final determination, the requested records, or a further explanation for the continued delay.
I also previously submitted a request for internal review of the OPRA denial, and I have not received the outcome of that review.
Please provide an immediate update on the status of my OPRA request and internal review. If the records continue to be denied, please provide the specific statutory basis for the denial and the appeal rights available to me under OPRA.
I respectfully request a written response regarding the final determination of this matter.

My May 18, 2026 correspondence requested the factual and legal basis for the denial. Rather than an explanation, I now request any existing records documenting that determination, including:
1. Any memorandum, legal opinion, email, directive, or other record relied upon in determining that the requested body-worn camera footage was exempt under N.J.S.A. 40:14-118.5(c)(1).
2. Any records identifying the individual(s) who made, reviewed, recommended, or approved that determination.
3. Any emails, text messages, memoranda, letters, notes, directives, or other communications concerning the decision to deny the requested body-worn camera footage between or among:
