Dear Mountain Lakes Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form. Please acknowledge receipt of this message.
Records requested:
All body cam videos for any motor vehicle traffic stop stop made by Mountain Lakes Police Department between the Month of February 1st - March 15th
All salaries and names of every police officers ranked or not.

I am requesting Body Cam Video of all traffic stops made by the Mountain Lakes Police Department Day And Night
For the Month of January 2024, Febuary 2024, and March 2024. With this request I am asking for all traffic stops of every day not only 1 per day. I also want all employed officer salaries for the 2024 YEAR.

Please be advised that from January 1^st to March 31^st 2024, there were
816 traffic stops and at a minimum 816 videos of body cam footage. Would
you like me to proceed in determining how many hours of body cam footage
there is and the special service charge that will be assessed to review
and redact the body cam footage?

Good Afternoon,
In response to your OPRA request I have been advised that there are 65.53 hours of body cam footage from January 1st to March 31, 2024. Due to the extraordinary volume and redaction requirements I have determined that a special service charge is warranted and will be required in order to complete your request. Each minute of footage must be reviewed in order to redact footage which presents security or privacy issues and a time estimate has been prepared along with the hourly rate of the individuals who will be charged with this task. Based on this information, a deposit of $7000.00 (payable by cash or check to the "Borough of Mountain Lakes") is required. Once the fee is received, your request will start to be processed. You will receive the videos in piecemeal until your request is completed. Please let me know if you have any questions.
