Bodycam from report 2025-30277
Dear Mahwah Township,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
I am investigating a rough ride claim resulting in injury. It is an incident associated with Police/Operations Report 2025-30277. I am hoping for bodycam footage to confirm the identity of the party claiming injury against the Uber driver. If the officer was able to also get the footage from HomeDepot, if that could be included as well that would be appreciated. It is associated with claim AB949-685016

Dear Mahwah PDOpra,
I am with Helmsman Management, the third party insurance admin for Uber. The party on the body came, is claiming an injury from a rough ride experience while in her uber. A Photo was presented of the individual however it does not match the description provided to us by the driver of the uber vehicle. the body cam is to verify the party claiming injury- that they match the photo submitted.
The police report also stated the officer spoke with Home Depot (she was dropped off in the parking lot) about possible camera footage of the erratic driving. The infomration sought is for an insurance claims and will not be released beyond the claim file.
The associated claim number is AB949-685016 and I can be reached at 469-997-4074 if more information is needed
