Board of Ed Budget Hearing Recording

The request was refused by New Brunswick Board of Education.

Charlie Kratovil

Dear New Brunswick Board of Education,

Under OPRA and the common law right of access, please provide a copy of the security camera footage from the NBHS Auditorium during the Board of Education meeting held on 3/6/2024.

If you deny this request, please preserve and do not delete the footage so that your decision can be properly appealed. For purposes of my common law request, I am a city resident and a journalist who has covered the BOE for more than 10 years. During that time, I have obtained at least one surveillance recording of a public meeting held in this room by making a request of the BA. I was unable to attend Wednesday's public meeting due to a conflicting public meeting, and I would like to obtain the district's recording to review what took place and report on it via New Brunswick Today, a community news outlet serving the greater New Brunswick area.

Feel free to call me at 732-993-9697 if you have any questions. Thank you kindly.

Yours faithfully,

Charlie Kratovil

Dorenia Villalona, New Brunswick Board of Education

Good afternoon Mr. Kratovil,
Thank you for your email. I cannot assist with any requests for security
footage, including those related to OPRA. Privacy and security
considerations prohibit the sharing of such information.
The proposed minutes for the March 6th Board Meeting will be posted on our
website when the agenda for the March 26th Board Meeting is posted. There
were no members of the public present and there were no public comments.
The only action taken was the introduction of the preliminary 2024-2025
budget.
