My name is Lieutenant Lucas Allen of the Washington Twp Police Department
and our office received a request on behalf of Pamelina Manna last Friday
10/25/2024.  The request was reviewed by the Township’s Attorney and it
was determined that Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. 552 applies to
only to Federal Agencies, as defined in 5 U.S.C. 551, not state or local
government agencies.  The attached request could be considered under OPRA,
but only if the request provided the information required under the
updated OPRA statutes.  The updated statutes require use of the GRC
promulgated form, or an alternative request that contains the required
certifications that are included on the updated form.  If a letter or an
email from a requestor does not include all of the information required on
the adopted form, the custodian may deny the record request. N.J.S.A. §
47:1A-5(f).

 

At this time and based on the aforementioned information we are providing
the attached OPRA and requesting you complete the form reference your
request.
