Dear Dr. Caldwell and Board of Education members,

I am writing to express my interest in being appointed to fill one of the
vacancies on the Board of Education. I have lived in New Brunswick for
almost fifty years, and taught bilingual kindergarten in our district for
over thirty.  I have had children in, and/or worked at, nearly every
school in New Brunswick, and was in the PTO at three of them, serving as
both president and vice-president at Lincoln School.  I believe my broad
experience, from both an educator’s and a parent/guardian’s perspective,
would be an asset to the board. Out of care and concern for the public
education system in our city, I have attended Board meetings fairly
consistently over the last several decades. I am now retired from the
district, and have both the time and the energy to devote to collaborating
with the rest of the Board in order to achieve our common goal of moving
our district forward in the best way possible. I would appreciate the
opportunity to serve the students and community of New Brunswick in this
capacity.
