Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. We are in receipt of your OPRA request asking for “all open and closed
permits” for 260 Grant Ave.
Your current request is overly broad and does not identify with reasonable
clarity the specific government records sought, as is required by Bent v.
Stafford Police Department, 381 N.J. Super. 30 (App. Div. 2005) and Burke
v. Brandes, 429 N.J. Super. 169 (App. Div. 2012). OPRA requests must seek
specifically identifiable records, not broad categories of documents or
information. At this time, we are requesting clarification of your OPRA
request so that we may properly respond.
For example, if you are looking for construction permits, you must
explicitly state “construction permits.” Writing “all open and closed
permits” is not sufficient, as there are many types of permits issued by
the Township.
Failure to provide written clarification of your request will result in
the closure of this OPRA request.
