Dear Preston, Mark A.,
Please send me the job description for this job title:
Military and Veterans Affairs Division Director.
Yours sincerely,
John W. Milner
Sir,
The NJ Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is a unique State Agency in that many of the managerial and supervisory positions within the Department require membership in the NJ National Guard at the time of hire. The Department therefore has a different "Division Director" job description found on the Civil Service Commission's website than the other State Agencies. The Department uses the job title "General Staff Officer" for these positions.
Please find attached the Civil Service Commission's job description of the "General Staff Officer" title which can also be found at https://info.csc.state.nj.us/jobspec/343....
Sincerely,
MARK A. PRESTON

Dear Preston, Mark A.,
The General Staff Officer job description applies exclusively to the Division level AG' s staff (G-1, G-2, G-3, & G-4). For these staff officers to report to the Chief of Staff (the TAG's chief of staff), they must be located at Fort Dix Headquarters (HQSTARC). One of these positions would be the head of MPM (0-6 rank). A second would be the head of Logistics (0-5 or 0-6 rank).
The job description I requested is specifically a DMAVA position. Note that the only tie to HQSTARC is the leadership chain of command (DMAVA head to the Deputy Adjutant General (DAG)).
Yours sincerely,
John W. Milner
