911/EMS Records
Dear Carteret Borough,
This is a request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access.
I would like to request a copy of records of calls made to 911/EMS for incidents the Amazon EWRS 9 facility at 8003 Industrial Avenue, Carteret, since January 1, 2021. If possible, I would prefer to receive any call logs in the Excel or CSV format. I would also like a copy of any incident reports or similar records for any incidents that occurred at the aforementioned facility on July 13, 2021 involving an EMS response to calls made to 911 for incidents involving a heart-attack or associated symptoms, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, light-headedness, or fainting. I understand that you may remove personally-identifiable health information from the documents that you produce.
I will accept to pay any up to $50 in fees for searching and producing these documents.

The Carteret Police Department is in receipt of your request.
CAD Reports from January 2021 until today have been located an supplied
regarding the specifics of your request.
A CAD reports was redacted because it contained an individual’s medical
condition and treatment. The redaction was due to privacy concerns and The
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
N.J.S.A 47:1A-1 Privacy Interest – a public agency has a responsibility
and an obligation to safeguard from public access a citizens personal
information with which it has been entrusted when disclosure thereof would
violate the citizens reasonable expectation of privacy.
Medical Incident Report I-2022-032960 has been located for July 13,2022.
Due to privacy concerns and The Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) we would require a HIPPA release in
order to provide this report so therefore this portion of your request is
denied.
