Dear Manville Borough,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-6(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested:
1) current 2025 public meeting schedule for the governing body
2) current 2025 public meeting schedule for each board, commission, and committee within your government

Good morning,
OPRA does not allow you to request records prospectively. We only are required to produce records that exist and do not need to create records in response to a request.
The New Jersey Open Public Meeting Act states:
10 :4-18. Schedule of regular meetings of public body; publicity; revision; procedure At
least once each year, within 7 days following the annual organization or reorganization meeting
of a public body, or if there be no such organization or reorganization meeting in the year, then
by not later than January 10 of such year, every public body shall post and maintain posted
throughout the year in the place described in subsection 3. d. (1), mail to the newspapers
described in subsection 3. d. (2), submit to the persons described in subsection 3. d. (3), for the
purpose of public inspection a schedule of the regular meetings of the public body to be held
during the succeeding year. Such schedule shall contain the location of each meeting to the
extent it is known, and the time and date of each meeting. In the event that such schedule is
thereafter revised, the public body, within 7 days following such revision, shall post, mail and
submit such revision in the manner described above.
None of our Boards or Committees have reorganized for 2025 and therefore there are no records responsive to your request. However, the Borough Council adopted a schedule last year for 2025 and will readopt the schedule at its reorganization meeting on Saturday Jan 4 at 11 a.m. here at Borough Hall.
That said, the Borough maintains a calendar on its website here: https://www.manvillenj.org/Calendar.aspx
And the various boards and committees stated when the meet (1& 3 Wednesday, 2&4 Tuesday Etc.) on the website. While this does not mean they will keep these schedules, if you have a pressing need to know when a particular board's next meeting is you can find the info and consult a calendar to figure it out.
I will reach out to see if there are any public notices for reorganization meetings available as a courtesy because you did not request that record and let you know what reorganization meetings are scheduled.
