Dear Woodbridge School District,
Under OPRA and the common law right of access, please provide a copy of the 2024 meeting schedules for the Board of Education and each of its committees.
If the schedules are unclear about the location/method(s) of meeting, I kindly ask that you clarify for me how to join and participate, and feel free to share links that can help members of the public to join and/or watch the meetings, or to watch them after they conclude.

Good morning, Mr. Kratovil,
We do not have our Board meeting schedule released for 2024 just yet.
It’s anticipated approval date will be at the upcoming January 18^th
meeting. Should this happen tomorrow, I can, and will, forward the list
to you after the meeting – I will make a note of this for you.
The Board operates under the Robert’s Rules of Order for their official
parliamentary procedure. Board meeting schedules are posted in two
publications (Home News Tribune & Star Ledger), outside our Administration
Building, outside Ross Street School #11, and online via our website

with 2024 dates after Board approval but again, currently this is still
posted for 2023 (the calendar always includes the Reorganization meeting
and January meeting for the following year, which is why this is what you
will find currently posted). Unless posted otherwise, meetings start at
6pm and are held at Ross St. School #11. After initial roll call, the
Board immediately retires to closed session. The meetings are also
live-streamed on [2]YouTube and remain posted there for viewing after the
meeting. Public participation at the meetings happens during two
different sessions: one is for public comment on agenda items ONLY and
happens before the agenda voting and the second is open public comment
which occurs before the close of the meeting, (after the agenda vote,
attorney advice and any old/new Board business is discussed). For each
comment segment, you are allowed 5 minutes to speak and just FYI, this is
not a Q&A session so you would want to get all comments/questions out in
that 5 minutes and then if the Board wishes to respond, they will do so
after your 5 minutes concludes.
As for committees, you can view the Board breakdown here: [3]WTSD Board
Committees. But you can also see the committee participation via the
[4]About the Board section. Committee meetings are not public meetings,
they meet without a quorum and no voting occurs at that time. Per the By
Laws of the Board under Policy 9130:
Standing Committees
The organization of the Woodbridge Township Board of Education shall
include standing committees to be
named annually, each to consist of at least three members, one of whom
shall be the chairperson. Each
committee shall gather all pertinent facts relating to any problem within
its assigned jurisdiction and submit
recommendations to the full board. The president shall appoint, as soon
after the organization meeting as
practicable, members of the board to standing committees where they shall
serve a term of one year.
