2024 Public Meeting Recordings
Dear South Jersey Port Corporation,
Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.
I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.
I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.
I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.
Records requested: all existing recordings of public meetings held in 2024.
My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. However, I recognize that many recordings, especially video recordings, are too large to send via email. If that is the case, I can recommend: 1) uploading the recordings to a Google Drive folder and sharing it with my Google account: ckratovil, or 2) using the free service WeTransfer to send the recordings to my email address: [email address]
I am also open to other methods, including picking up a flash drive or CD/DVD at your office, or receiving the same via US mail at our PO Box: #3180, New Brunswick, NJ 08903. Please confirm you have received this request and feel free to contact me at 732-993-9697 with any questions or to make any necessary arrangements. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.
Yours faithfully,
Charlie Kratovil
Mr. Kratovil:
This will confirm that I serve as the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs with the South Jersey Port Corporation ("SJPC"). As such, I am following up concerning your below OPRA request, which was received by the SJPC on 2/13/2025. Please allow this to confirm that the seven (7) business day response period as it regards your said request is hereby extended to fourteen (14) business days, as the recordings of each SJPC public meeting in 2024 requires excision/redaction. Specifically, the closed session that is part of each regular meeting recording needs to be excised/removed, which needs to be done manually. Closed sessions are not public, as same are privileged. Closed sessions are not then subject to release to the public.
Accordingly, this confirms that the date for SJPC to respond to your below OPRA request, which originally was 2/25/2025, be, and is now extended to, 3/6/2025.
Certainly, if you have any questions, please give me a call.
Thanks.
Regards,
August E. (“Gus”) Knestaut, Esquire
