2024 Meeting Recordings

Charlie Kratovil made this OPRA request to Civil Service Commission as part of a batch sent to 50 authorities Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Civil Service Commission did not have the information requested.

Dear Civil Service Commission,

Please accept this electronic request for public records made under OPRA and the common law right of access. I am not required to fill out an official form or use a particular software platform to submit my request per NJSA 47:1A-5(f), which states that an email from a requestor including all of the information required on the adopted form shall suffice in place of a completed form as a valid government record request.

I HAVE NOT been convicted of any indictable offense under the laws of New Jersey, any other state, or the United States.

I WILL NOT use the requested government records for a commercial purpose.

I AM NOT seeking records in connection with a legal proceeding.

Records requested: all existing recordings of public meetings held in 2024.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail as attachments. However, I recognize that many recordings, especially video recordings, are too large to send via email. If that is the case, I can recommend: 1) uploading the recordings to a Google Drive folder and sharing it with my Google account: ckratovil, or 2) using the free service WeTransfer to send the recordings to my email address: [email address]

I am also open to other methods, including picking up a flash drive or CD/DVD at your office, or receiving the same via US mail at our PO Box: #3180, New Brunswick, NJ 08903. Please confirm you have received this request and feel free to contact me at 732-993-9697 with any questions or to make any necessary arrangements. If you are not the custodian of records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email address to me for future reference.

Yours faithfully,

Charlie Kratovil

Re:    OPRA Request C229564

Dear Charlie Kratovil:

The Civil Service Commission "Commission" received your Open Public
Records Act (OPRA) request on January 25, 2025. This response to your
request is being provided to you today.

You made the following requests:

"All existing recordings of public meetings held in 2024.

My preferred delivery method for response(s) to this request is by E-mail
as attachments. However, I recognize that many recordings, especially
video recordings, are too large to send via email. If that is the case, I
can recommend: 1) uploading the recordings to a Google Drive folder and
sharing it with my Google account: ckratovil, or 2) using the free service
WeTransfer to send the recordings to my email address:
[4][email address]

I am also open to other methods, including picking up a flash drive or
CD/DVD at your office, or receiving the same via US mail at our PO Box:
#3180, New Brunswick, NJ 08903. Please confirm you have received this
request and feel free to contact me at 732-993-9697 with any questions or
to make any necessary arrangements. If you are not the custodian of
records, please forward my request to that person and provide their email
address to me for future reference."

Upon your inquiry regarding the Commission Board meeting recordings, I
informed you during our phone conversation that these meetings are not
recorded. Nevertheless, I am committed to providing you with further
details regarding the meetings. The Commission convenes according to the
schedule available online. You can access the schedule by clicking
[5]here. These meetings are open to the public, allowing individuals to
call in and listen. For additional information, including the agenda,
meeting dates, and minutes, please click [6]here.

This response does not waive or limit any other rights afforded the
Commission under OPRA and the common law, which are all expressly
reserved.

The Open Public Records Act permits a person who believes he or she has
been improperly denied access to a government record to file a complaint
with the Government Records Council or to file an action in Superior Court
to challenge the decision and compel disclosure. See N.J.S.A. 47:1A-6. You
will find attached to this email the document that describes the
procedures for taking these actions.

Your OPRA request is now hereby deemed closed. Thank you for the
opportunity to be of service.
